Eating good in Sweden

Hello all you and us Swedes - I have updated the links on the right side under LOKAL OCH EKOLOGISK MAT I SVERIGE - so now you can find local stores, on-line companies, and farmers that sell great, local, and pest-free food. Some sell clothes and pet food too.

Pet food? Aren't pets supposed lick the pots and make themselves useful as dishwashers? :)

Depends on how fancy pets you have. Our cats could live on Kalles Kaviar if we let them, but instead they get non-fancy boring dry food. Pet food actually has all kinds of very nasty stuff in it. It is better if the dogs and cats eat leftovers, I guess. Pigs ears and horse meat is maybe not what cats usually eat? Or tuna?

If it's good enough for me, it should be good enough for them. Or do they have more refined taste than that?

When it comes to cats, I don't think they are as picky as it may seem. Cats, rats and dandelions may be the ones who last the longest on planet earh.

Cockroaches will never die out.

Many cats are allergic to cat food, especially to corn. Cats are used to eat meat and grass, not corn and soybeans. And that is what they put into the cat food to bulk it up because it is cheap. There was this giant scandal with poisonous gluten in cat food from China recently, did you hear about that?

Also, I don't know many people that would eat pet food. So the pets can eat our food, but we not theirs. (Now O.K., AnS and EH will remind me that when I was little I ate a whole bowl of Doggy, dry dog food soaked in water, but I know better now. And that food was probably Swedish so it was better quality, I bet!)

Some, bigger, cats do! But the horses have stripes.
