haha! Leafes are all about patterns PP, but we can "leave" it this time! Haha...

Patterns are never wrong. Right?

That red thing is the cone of a cycad (kottepalm). Each little red square is a cone scale/bract and inside are either pollensacs or ovules that will become seeds after pollination.
