The giant sculptures of Easter Island and the Gaza pyramid is certainly more wondrous than the modern Statue of Liberty in New York. Just imagine replicating those stone sculptures using the same original tools, versus replicating the Statue of Liberty. But I am afraid that people will vote for the metalstatue in New York harbor (officially the statue is on an island in New Jersey, but they don't tell you that), for other reasons than that it is a 'wonder'. I think my most wondrous thing I am seen with my own eyes are some of the giant mosques in Samarkand, apart from all volcanoes, mountains, waterfalls, and so on of course. A little flower is wondrous too!

Cousing A has been to Angkor Wat, wonder what he thinks...

I meant cousin, not cousing.

So what is your pick? As for me, see picture above. Unfortunately there has been national campaigns to make people vote for their national wonders, so the result will probably be biased. Unfortunately the hanging gardens of New Jersey isn't realized yet, otherwise it would certainly be a winner! ;)

I will try to fix an edit button for the comments any month now... That would be a wonder, right?

The voting site has crashed, I can't get on it and see what the options were. Ha, it must be because it was on the front page of Aftonbladet today :)

Otherwise, look at wikipedia.

Still not workingto vote here, but I would vote for:
Angkor Vat, Easter Island, Giza pyramid, The Great Wall of China, Petra, Machu picchu, and all the sand castles my kids have built and that are no more...

PS. I wish they left out all the religious stuff like giant Jesus in Rio. I have seen it, it is giant, and it looks like a concrete monster.

Without religious stuff, less than half of them would remain on the list. But I agree, the statue in it self doesn't reallybelong on the list. If it does, any lighthouse does too.

The voting is done and here is the result:

The worlds 7 NEW wonders are:
Kinesiska muren i Kina, staden Petra i Jordanien, Kristusstatyn i Brasilien, Machu Picchu i Peru, pyramiderna i Chichen Itza i Mexiko, Colosseum i Italien och Taj Mahal i Indien.

English: The Great Wall in China, Petra in Jordan, Jesus Christ statue in Rio (Brazil), Machu Picchu in Peru, the Mexican pyramids at Chichen Itza, Colosseum in Rome (Italy), and Taj Mahal in India. Happy, everybody?

So, concrete Jesus made it to the top. Why I am thinking that there is an agenda behind that? ;)
I still prefer the rock heads of Rapa Nui.

Next up is the seven natural wonders of the world.
