Welcome to this bilingual (Swedish-English) group blog by family members living on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean, "the pond". Our interests range from the scientific to the eclectic, including gourmet food, horses, art and literature, computers, species in nature, history and iron, and photography. Three generations are posting here.
Today is the first rest day of this year's tour, well deserved before tomorrow's last stage in the alps. So what do the riders do today? A lot of them will go for a ride on their bikes...

What are they drinking? Look at all those tubes over their shoulders! Maybe they keep them filled with water to quench their thirst?
Looks like beer to me. The less lucky cyclists had to suck on a damp cloth... ;)
Beer? In France? I have never even seen french beer, have you?
But I bet there are plenty of damp cloths in France :) Isn't that what the bikers wear around their necks or on their heads?
TIme to stir the tomato sauce now...
Not a great selection of french beer at systembolaget, but I've had Kronenbourg.

I don't think it is quite the same thing to suck on a rubber tube. :)
