Funny food photo

Ordering 'Eggs Benedict' at the very fancy and pricy Hilton Chicago resulted in this concoction. What do you think, eyes, vulcanoes, or boobs? It wasn't my order, but the friend that ordered it said the sauce tasted like it came out of a bottle. Price? Probably around $15 including the coffee.

I vote boobs ;) does not look to good...This brings up a rule for a questionable eating establishment. Always order the most simple things. And think about how things might be prepared. Like here I would have stuck to Eggs over easy, or poached, or soft boiled. This way you know it came from a real egg. Scrambled can be from powdered eggs. A side of bacon or ham, and toast, also things you can't really screw up too bad. At dinners at bad rests(remember one, recently? ;) again stay away from "fancy" preparations and things that you can be frozen. Grilled steak or chicken is good, but watch out for sauces. Baked potato is good, not fries(prob frozen) or mashed(prob from a box) Veges are hard...
Its too bad there is so much bad food....

Well, I had omelett with ham, mushrooms and swiss cheese, and hash browns in the side, so mine was better. It was made to order too. But even on my plate there was that weird (and bad-tasting strawberry). This is the place that had the $20 breakfast buffet!

Yes, good advice - order the simple things. They didn't have Chicago hot dogs on the breakfast menu, or I would have ordered that.

What IS that!? Was it supposed to be breakfast, lunch or dinner? I'm not sure I'd have it for either, unless I was _very_ hungry.

PP: Good, simple rules!

Never heard of Eggs Benedict? It is a very fancy, calorie-rich breakfast - bread, ham, eggs, and lathered with hollandaise sauce. But it usually looks a lot different. The hairy thing on the farther end is fried, grated potatoes. It did NOT look appetizing.

No. Ignorance is bliss! :)
