Horsey horse don´t you stop...just wag your tail and go flippetiflop

I went on a days ride in the crispy september air this weekend. It´s such fun and relaxing at the same time. Some pictures from my day...

Small but strong hairy icelandic ponies with names like Fluga,Sokki, Helmingur, Noi, Bangsi and Krokur.

Mmm, ferns (last picture). Yummy! Too bad one cannot buy those edible ones here in sweden. If they are true ferns, that is. What does the botanist say?

Those green things the horse eats looks mostly like mosses, but there are some ferns there too. And the one that we eat here, the same species occurs in Sweden (but is not on the picture).

Nice photos, EH! How far did you ride?

We rode about 30 km in 5 hours. 2 short stops with "fika" (=snacks) and 1 hour lunchbreak with 4 kinds of pie and sallad.

A horse named 'Fluga'? (=fly, the insect). Isn't that a bit weird, considering that flies love to sit on horses and horses do everything they can to get them off their body with their tails?

I reformatted the post a little bit so it would be more compact, but couldn't get the two little pictures to be side by side. Blogger, fix little things like this, please...
