Welcome to this bilingual (Swedish-English) group blog by family members living on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean, "the pond". Our interests range from the scientific to the eclectic, including gourmet food, horses, art and literature, computers, species in nature, history and iron, and photography. Three generations are posting here.
In honor of EHs and JHs new house, here comes a real Dalslandsstuga (Cottage from Dalsland, a Swedish province in western Sweden), as a Swedish stamp. Our ancestors, from Ed in Dalsland, lived in timber houses like this. Note the tony windows and standing timber. Enjoy your house!

I like this and probably JH even more, because it´s more common with old red houses where he comes from, Hälsingland in the north of Sweden.
We got ourselves a brickhouse this time, but our country house is red. Falu-red actually.
I meant tiny windows, not tony ones!
