Happy Christmas!
The day before Christmas eve is called "dan före doppardan" in Swedish, which means the day before the day when you dip ("doppar") bread in hot ham stock. The Christmas is perhaps a bit more than that but the food is certainly an important part of the celebrations. This also the day for secret wrapping of gifts and a lot of cooking. The smells should really fill the house...

Some cooking here to, Christmas pate from Swedish recipe, new for this year. And gravlax in the fridge, two kinds, and glogg on the stove. The big smell is coming tomorrow when we will cook our 13 kg ham (that is 26 pounds for those of you that don't know the standardized system :)
All presents are packed, no rhymes written yet, and fridge is so full of food we can barely close it. Everything is under control. What a nice feeling...
You must be joking - 13 kg of ham?! Who is going to eat all that, I wonder?
We have failed on the gravlax because we just cannot find dill in this place. But I have fried a lot of Swedish style meatballs so there are compensations. And things generally under control also here.
But there will be no rhymes. I think...
