More and more of the same
Our banal world
Welcome to this bilingual (Swedish-English) group blog by family members living on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean, "the pond". Our interests range from the scientific to the eclectic, including gourmet food, horses, art and literature, computers, species in nature, history and iron, and photography. Three generations are posting here.

They must have been thinking "If it ain't broke, don't fix it"...
I found those images amazing. Why are all car rears so similar? If you looked in the 40s and 50s, did they all look the same? Why is there such a conformism? Because people like the expected and familiar? Or because they don't like to think and just want to recognize by pattern.
But there are differences too, even if this artist didn highlight them. We saw lots of different houses and signage (just wait for our photo blogging), but they were of course from different time periods. The problem is what is produced right now by multi-national, multi-market marketing companies, right? I am afraid this has to do with too much globalization and too much commercialism in the world.
More handmade, haiku, and real handy things for the people!
