Welcome to this bilingual (Swedish-English) group blog by family members living on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean, "the pond". Our interests range from the scientific to the eclectic, including gourmet food, horses, art and literature, computers, species in nature, history and iron, and photography. Three generations are posting here.
I wish to illustrate the fantastic insect wildlife we have around us, now that summer is here for real. It´s still chilly nights but days are warm and everywhere it´s creeping and crawling and flying insects. They are all interesting, and most are very beautiful.

Nice bugs! I wonder if these stamps where made from paintings or photos. Maybe photos? The ant is my least favorite... just because it is an ant.
there you go again commenting on your own posts....!
No, this was EH's post, not mine! See, she is a bug fan just like me.
I´m probably more of a bug fan than LS actually. But that I don´t know for certain. LS is however more of a plant fan than I am, for sure. It does not mean I don´t like plants though, I do.
:) EH
True, EH actually LIKES spiders, and I don't, really. She knows a lot more about bigs than I do. Now plants, that is among the most amazing things in the world!
weird...I'm so used to you putting stamps on....yes nice bugs!
I want a small bug like a miniature hawk that would perch in our kitchen somewhere out of the way. Then it would swoop down and attach, kill and eat the flies. Is there a bug like that?
PP, what you need is probably an miniature insect-eating bat. I don´t think you´ll find one that wants to be inside, but it´s anice idea. I always thought that dressaged "silverfiskar" (LS, translate please) who eat dust and other stuff on the floor would be a perfect thing to have. Just open the box and they eat the floor clean. Nice , huh?
