Ecuadorian hot dogs and other 'smarriga munsbitar'

On the hill Panecillo in Quito there is a little, quaint (and relatively expensive) restaurant called Pim's. It has the most beautiful view of the Quito valley and is really worth a visit.

Ecuadorians love fried food, both deepfried and panfried. Here is some chorizos, eggs, and salad with avocado. Hot dogs!
Fritada is a collection of many fried things - plantains, meat, chicken, popcorn. Note the corn cob, the kernels look so different from the ones we see here in the US - they have more space between them and are more pointed.
The empanadas are not big, but tiny little 'taste bites' (munsbitar in Swedish, but I think it should be called mumsbitar). You could get them with cheese inside or green bananas. The lemons are really different too, with green outsides and more orange insides.

Or... "Ceci n'est pas une pipe"?

hehe! You two are funny! I can't remember seeing any pipes there. Maybe it refers to the smoky car exhausts of Quito?
