Food quote of the day

"Tomatoes and oregano make it Italian; wine and tarragon make it French. Sour creme makes it Russian; lemon and cinnamon make it Greek. Soy sauce makes it Chinese; garlic makes it good."
Alice May Brock

After looking at this quote I realize that our food we make here at home is truly global. In the last week we have cooked General Tso's Tofu (Chinese, yummy!), "sill och potatis" (pickled herring and potatoes, Swedish, with sour creme), Pasta Primavera (Italian), smoked pork chops ("kassler", Amish/German), shrimp curry after great aunt Willis' recipe that she taught me as a college student (Indian), quesadillas (Mexican), grilled quail marinated in garlic, olive oil and herbs (Italian/French), and Greek yogurt for breakfast. This week we are having Vietnamese rice paper rolls (AREA decided on this and will make them).
