A fantastic-looking greenhouse

Read more here, in Swedish, use Giggle translator on your own risk!

Short summary added by LS - A little greenhouse that has a massive concrete wall in the center to accumulate heat.  One one side is the greenhouse (to the south), on the other is a room for entertainment and relaxation (with nice morning and evening sun).  There is a door between the two rooms in the big wall, and the outdoorsy entertainment room has a wood stove for chilly evenings or winter days. The greenhouse part has a sink and running water, and the plants are thriving in the chilly Scandinavian climate.

interesting... I have an idea for a house designed like this, using 2 massive walls. Lets build it!

I love this idea, but I think I would have liked it even more if it was closer to the house where you live - so it becomes an extended room in the house itself. In very old greenhouses the back wall was a big brick wall that would heat up from sunshine in the winter, and keep cooler in summer.

The really old greenhouses had brickwalls and inside the brickwall the smoke was lead through smoke channels inside the whole wall, before letting it out. The smoke warmed the wall in winter. This is why English ladies could have peaches and grapes and ananas at their tables. ( Oh , they did have gardeners and gardener boys who had to watch the fire too.) The art with overloaded plates with fruits are telling the truth. Today we shipped the fruit over half the world by plane, polluting our planet on the way.

I would love to have a house like this, PP, come over and build it with me! A gardener would be nice too!
