bumpers, couplers, hooks and trains

Here is an old Swedish box car with a typical European 'bumper' - these come in pairs and prevent the cars to crash into each other. The coupler that hooks the train together is also different from the American ones (see below).


American tender car without a bumper, just a giant coupler to pull the train with.
