There is wonderful mill near my childhood home in PA. The old curmudgeony bachelor mechanical engineer who lives there has spent decades refurbishing it and the dam. He even, mostly at his expense, built a fish ramp around the damn to appease the state. But most impressively, he build his own diving bell, so he can make repairs to the aging damn. He even goes by the wonderfully crotchety name of Foshag.
