here.... in Palo Verde National Park in Costa Rica. This photo is from 3 years ago, and this year it is greener and wetter, and with more birds closer. A giant splash in the wetlands turned out to be a hunting alligator, I saw its jagged tail. Thousands of whistling ducks, a rosy spoonbill or two, and ibis and muscovy ducks. Crazy kiskadee birds make crazy sounds, and the cicadas are just starting to make noise in the sudden dusk that happens at the sunset around 6 PM. More reports to follow. Poor all you that are sitting in ice and snow and rain and floods. It is 97 degrees (35 C) here and sunshine.
