"And along came a ...."
Found this on the oil tank in the basement yesterday! I think this is the biggest spider I have ever seen indoors. So what is it? I captured it in a jar and put it outside.
Note to non-Americans - that tape measure is in INCHES, not CM. One inch is 2.54 cm, so the spider is about 2.5 times larger than you first thought! I hope the spider likes its new home under the giant log in the garden.
EH, maybe you can help us to ID it, or at least to the family? I can't figure out how to key it out with bugguide.net. Is there a list of photos to compare with?
