The joy of music in Chicago
Here is my confession that will make PP very jealous - we went out out to the music bar Chicago blues tonight and listened to the band The Shirley Johnson Blues Band, and boy, were they good. Now it is 2 AM and I am dropping like a rock into bed. But my mind is filled with great blues music. With us were people from Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan and Tajikistan - many of which that had never heard one blues song in their lives. They liked it too. The singer, Shirley Johnson, herself, was fantastic! Voice close to Ella Fitzgerald, but the music was generally faster. Ah, it was just SO great.
